Lip Fillers

READY TO GIVE YOUR LIPS SOME LOVE ?

Lip Fillers: Natural fillers for fuller lips, and free consultation

One of the most common cosmetic procedures today is Lip Augmentation. Many women, and some men, choose this procedure either because their lips have lost volume and definition through age, or because they simply have always wanted fuller lips. It is a simple, minimally invasive treatment to plump up lips, giving them more volume, improving shape and definition, as well as smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles.

Lip fillers are done by small, precise injections and the procedure has very little downtime afterwards, and results are typically noticeable right away.

Whilst we can’t stop the ageing process, we can help you manage it. At Fresh Faces Cosmetic Medicine in Perth, we personalise treatments, with free consultations to discuss what our patients desire. We work with you to enhance the natural beauty of your lips. Using our combined 40 years industry experience, we can subtly enhance the beautiful lips you already have, naturally, or give you a fuller, more prominent look.

What are lip fillers?

Lip fillers are injectable fillers that add instant volume or shape to lips. They work by imitating substances that are naturally found under the surface of your skin. During your initial consultation, the doctor will discuss the fillers that are available, and decide which one will be right for you and your desired results. When injected, the fillers work from the inside and give skin and lips a plump, hydrated look. While the fillers restore volume, the process of the injection also encourages the natural production of collagen.

What to expect

Your lip fillers treatment experience

Free consultation.

As with any treatment at Fresh Faces Cosmetic Medicine, first you will have a free consultation with one of our doctors or registered clinicians to discuss your desired results. Our team will be very honest and clear about what you can expect for the procedure, regarding any pain, lasting effects, and also how to care for your lips afterwards. The doctor may also take photos so that you can compare your lip fillers before and after results. After you are fully comfortable and all risks and expectations have been discussed, the doctor or nurse can begin straight away.

Lip fillers treatment.

Most patients can proceed with the treatment immediately after the initial consultation. Some patients choose to have topical anesthesia or numbing cream first, which can take about 30 minutes to take effect, but others choose to go with dental blocks which are injections of local anaesthetic in key areas to make the entire lip completely numb. With the numbing cream, there is virtually no pain or discomfort during the injections, and the procedure generally takes less than 30 minutes. Lip fillers are injected using a very fine needle, giving extreme precision. With hyaluronic acid fillers, results can be seen right away. This is a benefit during treatment, as the doctors can control how much lip volume is created, and proceed gradually until the desired results are achieved. Any bumps or lumps are rare and with our skilled team they are easily fixed.

With lip fillers, not only will you see results immediately, but there is little or no down time required after your treatment. You will be able to return to your daily routine straight after.

Expected Results

Do you want full, luscious and voluptuous lips that turn heads? Maybe you want something more soft and subtle?  Perhaps you simply want an enhancement to remove wrinkles or fine lines or improve overall symmetry and shape.

Whatever your lip dreams are, you can trust Fresh Faces Cosmetic Medicine, to make these come true, for the unique you.

Lip fillers after-care and side-effects.

Following your treatment, possible side effects include redness, tenderness, swelling, and bruising around the mouth and lips and possible bleeding from injection points. These are side effects that are completely normal and should disappear within between one and five days, depending on how quickly your body heals. Your lips should feel natural and normal once these effects subside.

The following aftercare tips should help to reduce pain, swelling, and other side effects:

  • Apply ice or cold pack to the area, but be careful to not use too much pressure
  • Drink plenty of water, the best advice is to stay hydrated
  • Avoid smoking
  • Don’t use lipstick or apply pressure to your lips
  • Avoid excessive salt, spicy and processed foods and alcohol
  • Also avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours, or any activity that increases blood flow to your face
  • Do not take hot baths, or use saunas or jacuzzis, as they induce excessive sweating and dehydrate your body

How long do lip fillers last?

Results vary from patient to patient, depending on the individual’s skin type, skin conditions, lifestyle and age. With lip fillers, most patients notice results immediately, but it may take a  week or so for your lips to fully settle down. Results generally last from six months for most patients. After which, you may choose to have touch-ups to maintain your results. Over time the fillers are broken down and safely absorbed.

Are lip fillers safe?

Lip augmentation is one of the most common, simple, and non-invasive cosmetic procedures, and there are very few complications. Overall, patients should be in good health. As with any medical procedure, there are always risks. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising and redness, particularly around the injection sites. Rare, but also possible reactions could be rashes, infection or acne-like symptoms. There could also be unevenness of your lips, which should subside over time. The hyaluronic acid, as mentioned before, are natural lip fillers, already  in the body, so allergic or adverse reactions are rare.

Those with an active cold sore or infection around the mouth or lips, will most likely have to wait until it clears. Additional risks may arise for patients who also have allergies to fillers and or local anesthesia or who have autoimmune diseases, such as diabetes or lupus. Our team will discuss all risks before the treatment begins, and will provide recommendations for after care.

Should any of the side effects last for more than a few days, please let us know immediately.

How much do Lip Fillers cost?

During your initial consultation, the doctor or nurse will go over costs and payment options.  Prices may vary, depending on how dramatic of a change you want and the amount of fillers used for the injections. We do offer payment plans, so please give us a call with questions or to discuss options for Afterpay for cosmetic injections in Perth.
