Thread Lift – Visibly lift skin from within
Thread Lift is becoming one of the most popular treatments for reversing the signs of aging. Men and women alike are having it done, improving the appearance of the face, jawline and necks, which lose volume and sag over time. Thread Lift is not surgery, but instead involves inserting threads underneath the surface of the skin, and then gently pulling them and lifting the skin. The difference between silhouette soft threads and others is the presence of revolutionary “cones “which allow us to suspend the skin on these bidirectional cones delivering wonderful results. Not only do the threads help to tighten the skin, but they slowly dissolve over time, triggering the production of organised type 1 collagen. Patients see results immediately, but the skin improves with texture and tone over the next few months with results improving steadily over the next 6-9 months. If you are interested or if you have any questions, come see us. What is Thread Lift?
Silhouette Soft is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment to effectively lift and tighten the skin around the face and neck. It is suitable for men and women and offers a unique dual effect. First, there is the immediate lift of the skin, which is followed by the long-term collagen regeneration. As we get older, our skin slows down the production of collagen, leading to loose skin, wrinkles and fine lines. With thread Lift, threads are inserted under the skin to elevate the sagging tissue in problem areas. This is done using a needle, with no incisions necessary. Thread Lift is replacing the traditional face lifts, since the procedure is non-surgical and requires less downtime.

Your Silhouette Soft Thread lift treatment.
On the day of your appointment we ask that you come to the practice with no makeup on and freshly washed hair.
Once you are settled, we begin the process with a careful measuring and marking of the face before Dr Josephs will inject small amounts of local anaesthetic in key areas ensuring the procedure can go ahead with minimal discomfort for you, our patient.
Silhouette Soft is made from resorbable polylactic acid sutures, and these threads are inserted under the skin into a layer of which has no blood vessels or nerve endings. The threads allow us to gently reshape and elevate the tissues of the face or neck.
Silhouette Soft threads work in two ways, firstly the mechanical reshaping of the tissues of the face, but more importantly triggering the tissues to start making their own organized type 1 collagen which helps deliver the true anti-aging part of the procedure. The threads slowly dissolve over the next 12-18 months. Studies have shown that there is still evidence of new collagen production at 3 years.
Expected Results
Thread lift recovery time and possible side effects.
The downtime following a Silhouette Soft treatment is minimal, especially when compared to traditional surgeries. Your skin may feel a bit tight or sore for a few days after the treatment. You may also experience some mild bruising or swelling on your face, or skin depressions or puckering, these will all be gone within a few days. Most patients can return to work within a day or so depending on the workplace and other patient factors.
How long does a thread lifting last?
Results can be seen immediately after the treatment, since your skin is lifted with the thread, but the real rejuvenation effects become more noticeable after 3 months. We are often asked how long does a treatment last? This, like most treatments in the field is affected by multiple different factors largely related to the aging process of the patient themselves. As a rough guide we suggest 24 months, however it may be more or less than this as individual results vary.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does thread lift work?
Local anesthetic is used at the entry and exits points. Once they have been inserted the skin can be compressed and reshaped to obtain the desired lifting effect
How long does thread lift last?
The results last over 1 year, driven by the collagen stimulation around the suture and cone structures.
Are there any thread lift side effects?
Slight skin depressions or tightness can occur for a few days following the treatment, but these are typically short lived.
Is thread lift safe?
What is the recovery period?
Some patients may experience some side effects slightly after this period, but generally full recovery occurs by 2 weeks.
What are the thread lift risks?
In rare cases, patients may experience thread lift complications such as irritation, infection or their sutures becoming visible under their skin. If this occurs, however, there is no need to worry. This is extremely rare and as threads dissolve over time, it rarely is an issue.
